Gujarat: COVID-19 tally crosses 2.36 lakh, death toll touches 4,241

Gujarat has reported 960 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Monday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,36,259.

4,241 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Seven deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 4,241. While four deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, three deaths have been reported from Surat.

211 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 150 in Surat

Of the 960 fresh cases reported on Monday, 150 cases have been reported from Surat, 211 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 135 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 40 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 122 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 19 cases, Mehsana 21 cases, and Jamnagar 15 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 24 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 24 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 17 cases, Amreli 10 cases and Kheda 16 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 11 cases, Valsad has reported one case, Anand 13 cases, and Patan seven cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 55,796. The total tally has reached 47,864 in Surat, 23,503 in Vadodara, and 7,815 in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 2,217

Similarly, the addition of the four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,217. The death toll has increased to 948 in Surat, whereas it remains 232 for Vadodara and 104 for Gandhinagar.

2.20 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 11,625 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 66 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 2.20 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,268 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
