Gujarat: COVID-19 tally crosses 2.27 lakh, death toll touches 4,171

Gujarat has reported 1,175 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,27,683.

4,171 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Eleven deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 4,171. While eight deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, three deaths have been reported from Surat.

247 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 172 in Surat

Of the 1,175 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 172 cases have been reported from Surat, 247 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 152 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 52 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 129 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 19 cases, Mehsana 51 cases, and Jamnagar 45 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 23 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 19 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 20 cases, Amreli 29 cases and Kheda 15 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 14 cases, Valsad has reported no case, Anand 21 cases, and Patan 25 cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 53,964. The total tally has reached 46,524 in Surat, 22,345 in Vadodara, and 7,449 in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 2,173

Similarly, the addition of the eight fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,173. The death toll has increased to 932 in Surat, whereas it remains 228 for Vadodara and 103 for Gandhinagar.

2.10 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 13,298 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 65 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 2.10 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,347 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
