Gujarat’s daily tally of Covid-19 cases crosses 500

Gandhinagar: The daily tally of Covid-19 cases in Gujarat crossed 500. In 24 hours ending Wednesday evening, the state recorded 529 new cases of infection. No death was recorded during this period.


220 cases in Ahmedabad city

The maximum cases during the day were in Ahmedabad city where 220 persons tested positive.

Surat city recorded 79 cases, Vadodara city 53, Surat rural and Valsad 20 each.

Kutch and Navsari had 13 cases each, Mehsana and Rajkot city 12 each  and Bharuch and Gandhinagar city 10 each.

All other places had fewer than 10 cases.


408 recoveries in 24 hours

A total of 408 patients recovered from Covid-19 in last 24 hours. So far, over 12.17 crore recoveries have been registered.

The recovery rate stands at 98.87 per cent.

The active caseload has reached 2,914, of which 2 are on ventilator.


59k vaccinated

A total of 59,218 individuals received the Covid vaccine in Gujarat on Wednesday. So far, over 11.13 crore doses have been administered across the state.


CM Bhupendra Patel tests positive for Covid

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel has tested positive for the infection. He took the test after complaining of mild Covid-related symptoms. He has currently isolated himself at his residence.
