Gujarat reports 84 COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths


Gujarat has reported 84 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.23 lakh. Over 2.84 lakh people were vaccinated in the state till 5 pm.

10,062 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, three deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,062. Two deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, whereas Surat reported one death.

18 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 16 in Surat

Of the 84 fresh cases reported on Thursday, 18 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 16 cases have been reported from Surat, nine cases have been reported from Vadodara, and zero cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, five cases have been reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported zero cases, Mehsana reported three cases, and four cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported five fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported no fresh case. Dahod has reported zero fresh cases, Amreli three cases, and Kheda reported one fresh cases of the viral infection.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported two cases, Valsad has reported four cases, Anand three cases, and Patan reported no fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,375 in Vadodara, and 20,478 in Gandhinagar.

8.10 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 2,794 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, eleven patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.10 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 300 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
