Gujarat reports 21 COVID-19 cases, no death

Gujarat has reported 21 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.25 lakh. No death was reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The state’s death toll due to COVID currently stands at 10,082.

Over 5.05 lakh vaccines were administered in the state on Friday until 4 pm. According to the data compiled by the Union health ministry, over 72.37 crore COVID-19 jabs have been administered in the country so far. Of it, over 67.58 lakh people were vaccinated on Thursday. As far as Gujarat is concerned, over 5.18 crore doses of the vaccines have been administered in the state until Friday.

3 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 7 in Surat

Of the 21 fresh cases reported on Friday, three cases were reported from Ahmedabad, seven cases were reported from Surat, three cases were reported from Vadodara, two cases were reported from Kutch and two cases were reported from Devbhoomi Dwarka. This apart, one case was reported each from Rajkot, Navsari, Porbandar and Gir Somnath.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.44 lakh in Surat, 78,711 in Vadodara, and 20,517 in Gandhinagar.

8.15 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 158 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, five patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, over 8.15 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 13 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
