Gujarat’s daily surge in COVID-19 cases declines to 122

Gujarat has reported 122 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.23 lakh.

10,048 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, three deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,048. One death has been reported each from Ahmedabad, Surat and Junagarh.

19 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 24 in Surat

Of the 122 fresh cases reported on Saturday, 19 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 24 cases have been reported from Surat, 21 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and three cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, 10 cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported five cases, Mehsana reported no case, and two cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported five fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported no fresh case. Dahod has reported zero fresh cases, Amreli five cases, and Kheda reported one fresh cases of the viral infection.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported two case, Valsad has reported four cases, Anand one case, and Patan reported zero fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,301 in Vadodara, and 20,470 in Gandhinagar.

8.09 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 3,883 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 23 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.09 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 352 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
