Gujarat: COVID-19 tally crosses 2.35 lakh, death toll touches 4,234

Gujarat has reported 1,010 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,35,299.

4,234 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Seven deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 4,234. While five deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, one death has been reported from Surat and Vadodara.

215 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 166 in Surat

Of the 1,010 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 166 cases have been reported from Surat, 215 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 144 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 42 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 93 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 22 cases, Mehsana 28 cases, and Jamnagar 28 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 17 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 28 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 16 cases, Amreli nine cases and Kheda 26 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 25 cases, Valsad has reported four case, Anand 14 cases, and Patan 12 cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 55,588. The total tally has reached 47,709 in Surat, 23,367 in Vadodara, and 7,784 in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 2,213

Similarly, the addition of the five fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,213. The death toll has increased to 945 in Surat, whereas it remains 232 for Vadodara and 104 for Gandhinagar.

2.19 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 11,940 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 61 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 2.19 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,190 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
