Gujarat has reported 1,495 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 1,97,412.
3,855 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Thirteen deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,855. While eight deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, two deaths have been reported from Surat. The districts of Banaskantha, Bhavnagar and Gandhinagar have reported one death each.
341 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 262 in Surat
Of the 1,495 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 262 cases have been reported from Surat, 341 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 164 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 94 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 137 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 23 cases, Mehsana 60 cases, and Jamnagar 41 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 27 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 24 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 15 cases, Amreli 17 cases and Kheda 23 cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported 13 cases, Valsad has reported no new case, Anand 15 cases, and Patan 30 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 47,309. The total tally has reached 41,137 in Surat, 18,527 in Vadodara, and 6,101 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,969
Similarly, the addition of the eight fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,969. The death toll has increased to 884 in Surat, whereas it remains 216 for Vadodara and 96 for Gandhinagar.
1.79 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 13,600 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 93 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.79 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,167 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
