Gujarat: COVID-19 tally touches 1.67 lakh

Gujarat has reported 919 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 1,67,173.

3,689 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Seven deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,689. While three deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, two deaths have been reported from Surat. The districts of Patan and Vadodara have reported one death each.

227 fresh cases in Surat, 174 in Ahmedabad

Of the 919 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 227 cases have been reported from Surat, 174 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 115 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 35 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 97 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 18 cases, Mehsana 18 cases, and Jamnagar 43 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 18 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported nine fresh cases. Dahod has reported 14 cases, Amreli seven cases and Kheda seven cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 20 cases, Valsad has reported one case, Anand nine cases, and Patan six cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 41,455. The total tally has reached 35,559 in Surat, 15,140 in Vadodara, and 4,691 in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,891

Similarly, the addition of the three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,891. The death toll has increased to 841 in Surat, whereas it remains 209 for Vadodara and 89 for Gandhinagar.

1.49 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 13,936 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 65 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.49 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 963 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
