- Ahmedabad, Surat districts report 31 cases each; recovery rate reaches 98.2%
Gandhinagar: A day after reporting 135 cases of Covid-19, Gujarat witnessed a marginal rise, with 138 persons testing positive for the infection across the state in 24 hours. The overall case tally now stands at 8,22,677.
Three patients succumbed to the infection during this period. The death toll in the state has reached 10,040, according to the state health ministry.
31 cases in Ahmedabad, Surat
Ahmedabad district reported 31 cases, of which 29 were in the city and 2 in rural parts. Surat, too, had a similar number of cases, with 20 in the city and 11 in other parts. There were 16 cases in Vadodara, 13 in Junagadh, 8 in Rajkot, 4 in Jamnagar, 3 in Gandhinagar and 2 in Bhavnagar.
Among municipalities, Valsad reported 7 cases, Gir Somnath 4, Kutchm and Navsari 3 each, Banaskantha, Mehsana and Narmada 2 each, Anand, Bharuch, Dahod, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Sabarkantha and Tapi 1 each. Eleven districts did not report a single new case during the day.
Jamnagar, Surat and Amdavad reported one death each.
Recovery rate at 98.2%
As many as 487 patients recovered on Thursday. The recovery rate touched 98.2 per cent. So far, 8,09,911 persons have recovered from the infection.
4.48 lakh vaccinated in a day
A total of 4,48,153 persons were vaccinated against Covid-19 on Thursday. Of these, as many as 3.75 lakh took the first dose during the day.
