The Gujarat Congress on Monday hit out at Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal who is on a visit to the state.
Kejriwal, who is in Gujarat to bolster AAP’s presence and inaugurate the party’s state headquarters, said that AAP will provide an alternative to the citizens of the state, while asserting that BJP and the Congress are hand in glove and have lost the trust of people. Kejriwal had also said that BJP’s long tenure in power in the state is because of Congress.
Congress is the alternative to BJP
Targeting Kejriwal for his remarks, senior Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia said, “Top leaders like Chimanbhai Patel, Shankarsinh Vaghela and Keshubhai Patel could not become an alternative to the BJP. Then, how people from Delhi can become an alternative? Congress was, is, and will remain an alternative to BJP in Gujarat. Let us all identify our strength and try to empower Congress.”

AAP ‘B team’ of BJP
Attacking Kejriwal for his remarks, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said that AAP is a ‘B team’ of BJP. Doshi said that since Kejriwal cannot directly help the BJP, he has come as the saffron party’s B team.
The Congress leader also said that creating anarchy, making false allegations and not addressing core issues have become an identity of Kejriwal.
AAP to contest all seats in 2022 Assembly election
Earlier during the day, Arvind Kejriwal announced that his party will contest all seats in the Gujarat Assembly elections due next year. The move comes after the party performed well in the Surat Municipal Corporation elections where it became the main opposition party after decimating the Congress.
The Delhi chief minister said that the people of Gujarat are looking for an option as Congress and the BJP hand in gloves. Kejriwal said that if elected to power, AAP will not bring the Delhi model to the state as each state can have its own model chosen by its people.
