Gujarat Budget 2020 Highlight: Nitin Patel Introduces a Budget of 2,17,287 Crore


Gandhinagar: The budget session for the year 2020-21 has started in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly from today. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Nitin Patel is presenting the budget for the eighth time in the assembly. Nitin Patel said, “Our government has always been on the lookout for farmers.” He also said that special attention has been given to the development of education, employment, agriculture and rural industry sector in the Budget. 2,17,287 crore budget of Gujarat has been introduced.

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Nitin Patel presented a budget of 2,17,287 crore in the assembly. At 12 o’clock in Assembly, the budget session started, the first question and answer session started in which Congress MLAs also created a ruckus. After which Nitin Patel presented the budget of the Assembly 2020-21 at 1.15 pm. Before the presentation of the budget, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that the all-round development, and sustainable development of the state in 2020-21 and will show the way to the country.

-Provision of 4321 crores for Social Justice and Empowerment Department

-4317 crore provision for the water supply department

-11,243 crore provision for Health and Family Welfare Department

-Provision of Rs 7220 crore for the functioning of the water resources department

-Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation provided Rs 7423 crore

-Assistance will be made to build small godowns for livestock

-1710 crore rupees plan announced for Sauni scheme

-Assistance will be made for fodder collection and warehouses

-A new veterinary college will be set up at the cost of Rs 43 crore near Himmatnagar

-31995 crore provision for education department

-500 schools in the state to be developed as off-excellence

-A total of 29000 farmers will be benefited from the state

-Government also announced Kisan Parivar Samridhi Yojana

-5000 farmers will be given a grant of 30 crores

-3,44,000 crore to be invested under MOU

-3795 crore agricultural package announced for farmers

-A provision of Rs 7423 crore for the Farmer Welfare Scheme

-The government will introduce new projects to purify waste water

-1190 crores Government will provide assistance to pay crop insurance

-The government will contribute Rs 900 for 1 cow.

-Scheme for fishermen
