Gujarat reports 96 COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths


Gujarat has reported 96 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.23 lakh.

10,054 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, three deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,054. One death has been reported each from Ahmedabad, Chhota Udepur and Tapi.

21 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 14 in Surat

Of the 96 fresh cases reported on Monday, 21 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 14 cases have been reported from Surat, 16 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and two cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, nine cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported zero cases, Mehsana reported no case, and four cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported five fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported one fresh case. Dahod has reported zero fresh cases, Amreli six cases, and Kheda reported one fresh cases of the viral infection.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported one case, Valsad has reported three cases, Anand no case, and Patan reported one fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,338 in Vadodara, and 20,474 in Gandhinagar.

8.09 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 3,465 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 14 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.09 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 315 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
