Gujarat reports 93 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths


Gujarat has reported 93 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.23 lakh.

10,056 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, two deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,056. One death has been reported each from Ahmedabad and Tapi.

20 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 22 in Surat

Of the 93 fresh cases reported on Tuesday, 20 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 22 cases have been reported from Surat, 15 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and one case has been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, eight cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported zero cases, Mehsana reported no case, and four cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported three fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported no fresh case. Dahod has reported zero fresh cases, Amreli four cases, and Kheda reported no fresh cases of the viral infection.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported three cases, Valsad has reported no case, Anand three cases, and Patan reported no fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,353 in Vadodara, and 20,475 in Gandhinagar.

8.10 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 3,230 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 11 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.10 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 326 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
