Gujarat reports 80 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Gujarat has reported 80 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.23 lakh. Over 2.48 lakh people were vaccinated in the state till 5 pm.

10,064 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, two deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,064. One death has been reported each from Ahmedabad and Aravalli.

15 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 21 in Surat

Of the 80 fresh cases reported on Friday, 15 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 21 cases have been reported from Surat, eight cases have been reported from Vadodara, and one case has been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, four cases have been reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported one case, Mehsana reported two cases, and two cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported two fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported no fresh cases. Dahod has reported zero fresh cases, Amreli five cases, and Kheda reported two fresh cases of the viral infection.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported one case, Valsad has reported three cases, Anand two cases, and Patan reported no fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,383 in Vadodara, and 20,479 in Gandhinagar.

8.10 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 2,644 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, ten patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.10 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 228 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
