Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has handed over Indian Citizenship Certificates to 7 Pakistani Hindu refugees in Gujarat and congratulated them. He then tweeted and wrote, “Today I met refugees from Pakistan in Kutch, Gujarat and gave citizenship certificates to 7 refugees. There is an atmosphere of excitement and celebration about the CAA. This historic decision taken by Prime Minister Shrigovernment has brought a new dawn to these people’s lives.”

He further said, “In Gujarat, there are thousands of refugees, fled due to religious persecution in Pakistan. After the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA), they are getting Indian citizenship. They are thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.”
It may be recalled that Hasina Ben, originally from India had moved to Pakistan after her marriage in 1999. But after the death of her husband she returned to India. Before 2 tyears ago she had applied foer the Indian Citizenship and on 18 December, 2019 she has been given a certificate of citizenship from India. Hasina Ben wrote a letter to the collector seeking Indian citizenship in Dwarka, Gujarat.
