Gujarat reports 42 COVID-19 cases, no death

Gujarat has reported 42 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.24 lakh. No death was reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatality has taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,073.

7 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 13 in Surat

Of the 42 fresh cases reported on Sunday, seven cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 13 cases have been reported from Surat, four cases have been reported from Vadodara, and zero cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, four cases have been reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported two cases, Mehsana reported zero cases, and 22 cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported one fresh case of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has also reported no fresh case. Dahod has reported zero fresh cases, Amreli no cases, and Kheda reported zero fresh cases of the viral infection.

Bharuch reported zero fresh COVID-19 cases, whereas Valsad and Anand have each reported one fresh case. No death has been reported from Patan.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,440 in Vadodara, and 20,493 in Gandhinagar.

8.13 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 931 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, nine patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.13 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 262 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
