Gujarat has reported 391 fresh cases of coronavirus in the past 24-hours ending at 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken the state’s coronavirus case tally to 11,380.
The state also reported 34 fresh deaths that pushed the state’s death toll due to COVID-19 to 659. Out of the 34 deaths, 31 deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, two deaths have been reported from Surat, and one death has been reported from Panchmahals.
Out of the 391 new cases, 276 cases are of Ahmedabad alone, whereas Surat reported 45 cases and Vadodara reported 21 fresh cases. Kutch has reported 14 fresh cases. Kheda and Sabarkantha reported six cases each, whereas Gandhinagar reported five cases. Patan has reported four cases, whereas Panchmahals, Gir-Somnath, and Dahod reported two cases each. The districts of Bhavnagar, Anand, Aravalli, Jamnagar, Valsad, Junagarh, Porbandar, and Amreli have reported one case each.
With the addition of the 276 fresh cases till 5 pm on Sunday, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Ahmedabad has increased to 8,420—the highest in Gujarat. The city has also reported 524 deaths—the highest in the state.
Apart from the 8,420 COVID-19 cases reported from Ahmedabad so far, Surat has reported 1,094 cases, followed by Vadodara with 660 cases, Gandhinagar with 168 cases, Bhavnagar with 108 cases, Banaskantha and Anand with 83 cases each, Rajkot with 79 cases, and Aravalli with 78 cases. Mehsana has reported 75 cases, whereas Panchmahals has reported 71 cases.
Botad has reported 56 cases so far, followed by Mahisagar with 48 cases. Kheda has reported 46 cases, followed by Patan with 42 cases, Sabarkantha with 38 cases, Jamnagar with 35 cases, and Bharuch with 32 cases. Kutch has reported 28 cases. Gir-Somnath has reported 25 cases, Dahod has reported 24 cases, followed by Chhota Udepur with 21 cases. Narmada has reported 13 cases whereas Devbhoomi Dwarka has reported 12 cases.
The districts of Morbi, Tapi, Valsad, Navsari, Dang, Surendranagar, Junagarh, and Amreli have each reported less than 10 cases.
According to the Gujarat Health and Family Welfare Department, out of the total cases, 38 people are in a critical state and put on ventilator support, 6,184 people are stable, 4,499 people have been discharged, and 659 have died.
As far as deaths are concerned, apart from the 524 deaths reported in Ahmedabad, 51 deaths have been reported from Surat and 32 deaths have been reported from Vadodara. Bhavnagar and Anand are trailing Vadodara with eight deaths each. Gandhinagar and Panchmahals have each reported six deaths so far, followed by four deaths in Banaskantha. Three deaths have been reported from Mehsana. The districts of Rajkot, Aravalli, Bharuch, Sabarkantha, Jamnagar, and Patan have each reported two deaths, whereas one death each has been reported from Kutch, Botad, Kheda, Mahisagar, and Valsad.
So far, 4.23 lakh people have been placed under quarantine.
