Gujarat has reported 283 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.21 lakh.
10,018 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Unfortunately, six deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,018. While two deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, Surat also reported two deaths. One death has been reported each from Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar.
47 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 66 in Surat
Of the 283 fresh cases reported on Wednesday, 47 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 66 cases have been reported from Surat, 26 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and four cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, 19 cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported one case, Mehsana reported six cases, and seven cases were reported from Jamnagar.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 18 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported five fresh cases. Dahod has reported one case, Amreli three cases, and Kheda four cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported nine cases, Valsad has reported eight cases, Anand seven cases, and Patan reported one case.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.37 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,133 in Vadodara, and 20,447 in Gandhinagar.
8.03 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are over 7,749 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 203 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.03 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 770 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
