Gujarat reports 151 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths


Gujarat has reported 151 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.22 lakh.

10,034 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, two deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,034. One death has been reported each from Ahmedabad, and Surat.

36 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 26 in Surat

Of the 151 fresh cases reported on Monday, 36 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 26 cases have been reported from Surat, 17 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and one case has been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, 12 cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported two cases, Mehsana reported two cases, and three cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 13 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported four fresh cases. Dahod has reported no fresh case, Amreli three cases, and Kheda three cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported five cases, Valsad has reported six cases, Anand two cases, and Patan reported zero fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,217 in Vadodara, and 20,457 in Gandhinagar.

8.06 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 5,639 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 113 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.06 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 619 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
