Gujarat reports 138 COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

Gujarat has reported 138 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.22 lakh.

10,040 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, three deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,040. One death has been reported each from Ahmedabad, Surat and Jamnagar.

31 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 31 in Surat

Of the 138 fresh cases reported on Wednesday, 31 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 31 cases have been reported from Surat, 16 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and three cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, eight cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported two cases, Mehsana reported two cases, and four cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 13 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported zero fresh cases. Dahod has reported one fresh case, Amreli zero cases, and Kheda also reported no fresh case of the viral infection.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported one case, Valsad has reported five cases, Anand one case, and Patan reported zero fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,248 in Vadodara, and 20,463 in Gandhinagar.

8.07 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 4,807 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 81 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.07 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 487 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
