Gujarat records 12,911 new Covid-19 cases, 22 deaths in 24 hours


Gandhinagar: The daily tally of Covid-19 cases in Gujarat reduced to 12,911 in 24 hours ending Thursday evening, as per the state health department bulletin.

Twenty-two patients succumbed to the infection during this period.

The death toll due to Covid-19 in state has reached 10,345.


4,405 new cases in Ahmedabad city

The daily tally of cases in Ahmedabad city, which has been recording the maximum new cases, reduced on Thursday. A total of 4,405 individuals in the city tested positive for Covid on Thursday. It was followed by Vadodara city with 1,871 cases, Rajkot city 1,008, Surat city 708 and Vadodara rural 524.

Surat rural recorded 386 cases, Gandhinagar city 364, Mehsana 302, Patan 270, Rajkot rural 259, Banaskantha and Kutch 243 each, Bhavnagar rural 233, Anand 196, Bharuch 180, Jamnagar city 172, Valsad 171, Morbi 166, Gandhinagar rural 158, Kheda 144, Navsari 142 and Sabarkantha 105.

The remaining cities had less than 100 cases.


7 deaths in Ahmedabad city

Of the 22 deaths in Gujarat, 7 were recorded in Ahmedabad city, followed by 3 in Rajkot city, 2 each in Vadodara ciyt, Mehsana and Bharuch and 1 each in Surat city, Bhavnagar city and rural, Jamnagar city, Valsad and Navsari.


Recovery rate improves; 23.1k discharged

A total of 23,197 patients recovered from Covid-19 in last 24 hours. The overall recovery has crossed 9.92 lakh. The recovery rate has improved and currently stands at 88.56 per cent.


304 patients on ventilator

The active caseload of Covid in Gujarat is 1,17,884. Of these, 304 patients are on ventilator.


2.13 lakh vaccinated in a day

A total of 2,13,822 indivuals received the Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday. The cumulative vaccination figure in the state has crossed 9.71 crore.
