Gujarat reports 123 COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths


Gujarat has reported 123 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 8.23 lakh.

10,045 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Unfortunately, three deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 10,045. One death has been reported each from Ahmedabad, Gir Somnath and Jamnagar.

27 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 26 in Surat

Of the 123 fresh cases reported on Friday, 27 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 26 cases have been reported from Surat, 17 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and three cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, eight cases were reported from Rajkot, Bhavnagar reported zero cases, Mehsana reported one case, and five cases were reported from Jamnagar.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported four fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported one fresh case. Dahod has reported zero fresh case, Amreli three cases, and Kheda reported two fresh cases of the viral infection.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported one case, Valsad has reported six cases, Anand two cases, and Patan reported zero fresh cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 2.38 lakh The total tally has reached 1.43 lakh in Surat, 78,280 in Vadodara, and 20,467 in Gandhinagar.

8.08 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are over 4,116 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 38 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 8.08 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 431 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
