Gandhinagar: Praising the ‘Mission Million Trees’ in Ahmedabad, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that tree plantation is extremely important for sustainable growth. He announced that the state government, too, would shortly kick off a campaign to plant 10 crore saplings across the state.
The state government is celebrating five years of CM Vijay Rupani in office. To mark the occasion, several events have been planned across the state under ‘Panch Varsh Apni Sarkar-Sauno Sath Sauno Vikas’.
On Sunday, Rupani attended a tree plantation event at Smritivan in Gota area, where 65,000 saplings would be planted using Miyawaki technique.
“The state government is moving towards the goal of sustainable growth with the mantra ‘Green and Clean Gujarat’. Sustainable growth is extremely important if we want to leave something for the coming generations. The state government has taken up various initiatives like sapling planting as well conservation and nurturing of trees,” said Rupani.
Home minister Pradipsinh Jadeja, Ahmedabad mayor Kirit Parmar, AMC standing committee chairman Hitesh Barot, MLA Bhupendra Patel and others were present at the venue.
