Gujarat university is likely to take the remaining exams for various faculties that could not be conducted due to the Covid19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown, in July. The results are also likely to be announced by July end and the new academic session is expected to begin from August onwards, a local media report said.
Those in the know said that the varsity could either reduce the time given for exams and may consider the internal marks scored by a student in the earlier internal exams to arrive at the results. This is believed to be in line with the recommendations of a special committee made by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the same.
Some of the recommendations of the committee included that marks be given taking into consideration the score of a student in internal exams and to the exam time be reduced from 3 hours to 2 hours.
Earlier the HRD minister had hinted that the college exams may be taken in July and sessions thrown open for the academic year in August. Earlier, the CBSE board exams and the entrance exams for IIT and several other competitive exams had to be postponed after the nation went into a lockdown to help prevent the spread of the disease.
