Gujarat on Tuesday recorded 620 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This is the fourth consecutive day of the state recording over 600 cases. With this, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 32,643 while the death toll is 1,848. The state recorded 20 new deaths due to the disease of which nine were in Ahmedabad, four in Surat, two in Vadodara and Gandhinagar each and one each in Junagadh, Patan and Navsari.
Ahmedabad recorded 197 new cases of which 182 were within city limits. This is the first time in two months that the number of cases in the district is below 200. With this the total number of cases and deaths in the district now stand at 20,913 and 1,441 respectively. Surat, Vadodara and Gandhinagar recorded 199, 52 and 16 new cases respectively. The total number of cases in Surat stands at 4,829 while it is 2,267 and 653 for Vadodara and Gandhinagar. The death toll in Surat so far is 158, 49 for Vadodara and 31 for Gandhinagar. The state has 6,928 active cases so far.
