As COVID-19 cases increase in the state, more MLAs and MPs are getting caught in the pandemic too. Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs minister Jayesh Radadiya and Jamnagar rural MLA Raghavji Patel have tested positive for COVID-19.
Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat Abhay Bhardwaj’s condition is also reported to be critical. Bhardwaj is under treatment at the Rajkot Civil Hospital. He was put on a ventilator on Monday night after his oxygen level dropped further.
He had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 31. His family has also tested positive for the disease.
Recently Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who had met many of the BJP leaders who later tested positive for COVID-19, also got himself tested. He tested negative for the disease.
Radadiya tweeted about his COVID-19 status and said that he was suffering from mild symptoms and had quarantined himself at home. He also appealed to all those who came in touch with him to get themselves tested for the disease.
Jayesh Radadiya was with CR Patil during S’rashtra tour
Interestingly, Radadiya was with BJP Gujarat president CR Patil during his Saurashtra tour. Patil had also tested positive for COVID-19.
Two BJP corporators from Surat Amitsinh Rajput and Mukesh Dalal have tested positive for COVID-19. Amitsinh is the chairman of the SMC’s drainage committee.
BJP Gujarat president CR Patil’s second COVID-19 test report carried out on Monday was positive too. CR Patil had earlier tested positive for the disease and was under treatment at the Apollo Hospital in the city.
In addition to Patil, BJP spokesperson Bharat Panday, BJP office secretary Paresh Patel, Mahila Morcha secretary Monaben Raval and Ahmedabad East MP Hasmukh Patel have tested positive due to the disease.
Ahmedabad (East) MP Hasmukh Patel and his wife have also tested positive. Patel had participated in the Vijay Rath Prasthan programme of the party.
In Ahmedabad alone, over 24 corporators and 4 MLAs and 2 MPs have tested positive so far.
