The Gujarat ATS has nabbed two more members of the Chhota Rajan gang thus solving a loot case of Rs7 crore. The two have been identified as Rajesh Khanna and Kalu Hamam. Earlier, the department had nabbed another member of the gang Haresh Goswami. Goswami was nabbed from the Vastral area in Ahmedabad. Police had said that Goswami came to visit his sister but was stuck at her house due to the lockdown.
In January 2020, some men had entered and looted Rs7 crore from the strong room of Indian Infoline Finance Limited on the Vapi-Silvasa road. The cops nabbed Santosh Nayak aka Rajesh Khanna and Sarmat Baigh aka Kalu Hamam from Karnataka and Mumbai respectively. The police also recovered Rs70 lakh in cash from them.
Khanna is accused in several other loot and murder cases. It is believed that Khanna was behind the murder of Kayum Qureshi and Iqbal Kuturani, both members of Dawood Ibrahim’s gang. The murder was allegedly carried out at the behest of Chhota Rajan. Hamam is one of the accused in the murder of MLA Premkumar Sharma in the year 1993. It is believed that Sharma was killed at the behest of Dawood Ibrahim.
