Gujarat: 5.81 lakh get Covid-19 vaccine in 24 hours; highest so far

  • Marginal rise in cases with 24 persons testing positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours

Gandhinagar: The state achieved yet another milestone in terms of daily vaccination against Covid-19. Over 5.81 lakh doses of vaccine were administered across the state in 24 hours ending Thursday evening, according to the health department.

Meanwhile, the state reported a marginal rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, with 24 persons testing positive for the infection in 24 hours. On Wednesday, there were just 15 cases.

No death was reported during this period.

The death toll stands at 10,076.

There are 206 active cases in the state currently, of which 6 are on ventilator while the remaining 200 are stable.

Surat city reported 6 cases, Vadodara city 5 and rural 1, Ahmedabad city 3 and rural 1, Tapi 2, Banaskantha, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Dahod, Junagadh and Valsad 1 each.


31 patients recover in a day

A total of 31 patients recovered from Covid-19 and were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. So far, 8,14,696 patients have recovered from the infection, which is 98.75 per cent of the total cases.


3.5 crore vaccinated in state

A total of 5,81,446 doses of Covid-19 were adminstered across the state on Thursday, taking the overall vaccination figure till now to 3,50,01,034. This is the highest single-day vaccination figure for Gujarat. Previously, 5.08 lakh doses were administered on July 22.
