Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced fresh dates for board exams for repeater and private students. The exams for class 10 and class 12 (science and general streams) will begin from July 15, the board said on Saturday.

Earlier, on June 1, the education department had announced that exams for repeater and private students would be held between July 1 and 16. However, the next day, it had postponed the exams in view of the Covid-19 situation. It had not announced any fresh dates for the exams.

Meanwhile, the exams for class 10 and 12 (regular) were scrapped. The decision came after a similar move by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

After cancelling the exams for regular students, the board also announced a formula for calculation of marks for them.

According to GSHSEB circular, while calculating the marks for class 12, 50 per cent weightage will be given to the score in class 10, while 25 per cent each will be on the basis of average score of term-end exams in class 11 and unit and term-end exams of class 12
