Govt is Oppressing Jamia Students: AIMIM Chief Owaisi Lashed Out Over Firing

The effect of CAA passed in Winter Session of Parliament is now visible in budget session as well. As soon as proceedings started in Lok Sabha on Monday, the opposition MPs started raising slogans raising the issue of firing in Jamia. Opposition MPs shouted slogans saying, “Stop firing, stop breaking the country.” There have been three incidents of firing in and around Shaheen Bagh in one week. As soon as Anurag Thakur started speaking in Lok Sabha there was an uproar among the MPs of opposition parties. MPs were seen shouting slogan “Goli Minister Go Back”.

During the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, the issue of firing in Jamia came up loudly. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi lashed out at the Modi government. He alleged that “We stand with the students of Jamia. This government is doing injustice upon children… they don’t have any shame, they are hitting children and firing.”(Hum tamam Jamia ke bachchon ke saath hain. Yeh hukumat zulm kar rahi hai bachchon par… Sharam nahi hai inko, bachchon ko maar rahe hain, goliyaan mar rahe hain).

Amid the uproar in the house, Lok Sabha Speaker Birla appealed to the members to go to their place. He said that the Constitution and democracy will be saved only when they discuss. It may be noted that these incidents have happened after the slogans raised by Union Minister Anurag Thakur while addressing the election meeting in Delhi. On which Asaduddin Owaisi has also questioned. In his tweet, Owaisi alleged that the firing was caused by Anurag Thakur’s inflammatory speech.
