Hitesh Chavda, Gandhinagar: The government had canceled the recruitment of non-secretarial clerk without giving any specific reason. After a huge protest from the candidates, the government has announced the date of the exam and has declared to take the exam as per the previous rules, which means that 12th pass can also appear for exam. But the government which was previously seeking a graduate for the post of a Clerk seems to have overlooked the fact that 7 of the 21 ministers sitting in the cabinet have not even cleared 12th standard. The ministers educated only up to 7th or 8th standard are also enjoying the ministry. The ministers include Ishwarbhai Ramanbhai Parmar, Jawaharbhai Pathaljibhai Chavda, Bachubhai Maganbhai Khabad, Vasanbhai Gopalbhai Ahir, Ramanlal Nanubhai Patkar, Kishore Kanani (Kumar) and Yogesh Patel also 12th.
On this issue, when we looked into the affidavits submitted by the ministers during the elections, we found that the Chief Minister of the state, Vijaybhai Raminikalal Rupani has done B.A. LLB (Saurashtra University) and Deputy Chief Minister of the state Nitinbhai Patel has passed S.K. Y B. Com (CN Arts & Bd Commerce College).
The Cabinet Minister R. C. Faldu is Old SSC – Pre-Science (Virani Science College, Rajkot), Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama- B.A. LLB, B.Ed. (Gujarat University), Kaushik Kumar Jamnadas Patel Commerce Graduate (Gujarat University), Saurabh Patel- B.Com. (Gujarat University) and Jawaharbhai. Pathaljibhai Chawda- SCC (Rajkumar College Rajkot).
While minister of state Pradipsinh Bhagwat Singh Jadeja is B.Sc. (Gujarat University, Parashatmabhai Odhavjibhai Solanki- (Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mumbai), Bachubhai Maganbhai Khabad- old SSC 11th std, Jayadrathasinhji Chandrasinhji Parmar- B.Com (September -1985), DTP (April-1988), LLB (July -1992), DLP (July 1992), all degrees ( MS University), Ishwari H Thakorbhai Patel- BA LLB (South Gujarat University), Vasanbhai Gopalbhai Ahir- 7th standard pass (Ratanal Panchayat Primary School), Vibhavarben Vijaybhai Dave- M.Com (Saurashtra University), Ramanlal Nanubhai Patkar- Eighth grade pass (Jitendra Narottam Chauhan High School Maroli), Kishore Kanani (Kumar)- standard 9 pass Secondary & Higher Secondary School- Surat, Yogesh Patel- SSC and 1st year, Diploma and Minister Dharmendra Singh Marubha Jadeja, HSC.
Now, if the government wants a clerk to be a graduate, why is the government not passing a law that makes it mandatory for the ministers and legislators to be educated up to a certain standard or to have a minimum qualification? This should also be the part of the debate.
