Within four days of a 67-year-old businesswoman from Surat succumbing to coronavirus without any foreign travel history, the deadly virus has claimed one more life in the state after an 85-year-old woman died due to coronavirus. Now, the total death toll in the state due to coronavirus has gone up to two, whereas the virus has infected another 39 people.
Notably, the octogenarian was a resident of Ahmedabad’s Danilimda and had travelled to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. She was admitted to Civil Hospital on March 22 with respiratory illness and later developed bilateral pneumonia. The woman’s family members have been already put under quarantine.
Gujarat also recorded fresh positive cases on Wednesday taking the total tally to 39. Out of the 39 cases, 14 positive cases of the virus have been reported from Ahmedabad whereas, Surat and Vadodara have reported seven cases each. This is followed by Gandhinagar with six cases. Rajkot has reported four cases after two persons were found positive for the virus on Tuesday, whereas Kutch has reported one case.
