FIR sought against Kareena Kapoor for ‘hurting’ Christian sentiments

Jabalpur: A petition has been filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking an FIR against Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Christian community through her book.

The petitioner, advocate Christopher Anthony, has objected to the use of the word ‘bible’ in the book authored by the actress, titled ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pregnancy bible: The ultimate manual for moms-to-be’.

He has submitted that the use of the word has hurt the sentiments of members of the Christian community.

“… she has insulted the Holy scriptures of the Christians, Jews and many other sects of the world as she is a well-educated person who knows the meaning of the holy word ‘bible’…” he argued.

He accused her of launching a book on her pregnancy for cheap publicity, arguing that the word ‘bible’ is the holiest scripture for Christians and cannot be used to describe anyone’s pregnancy.
