Following Rhea Chakraborty’s accusations, an FIR has been registered against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters and others for prescribing him medicines banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters have been charged with abetment to suicide and criminal conspiracy in the FIR lodged by Mumbai police.
The case has been registered at Bandra police station. The accused have been charged under sections 420, 464, 465, 466, 468, 474, 306, 120(B) and 34 of IPC and sections 8(c), 21, 22(A) and 29 of NDPS Act.
As per the Supreme Court order, the case has been transferred to CBI for further investigation.
What did Rhea claim?
Rhea Chakraborty had claimed that Sushant’s sisters—Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh—had prescribed drugs to the actor without consultation.
Rhea in her complaint claimed these persons hatched a conspiracy. Additionally, she claimed that they obtained a false prescription on the letterhead of a government hospital for banned medicines. She also claimed that they administered the medicines to the actor without supervising doses and quantity.
Rhea sought that an FIR be registered under IPC, NDPS Act and Telemedicine Practice Guidelines. She had also accused Priyanka of molesting her.
NCB registered case against Rhea and family
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on August 26 registered a case against Rhea Chakraborty and her family members in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The NCB is probing the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
The agency has booked Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others in the case. They have been booked under multiple sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Meanwhile, those booked by NCB are already being probed by the Enforcement Directorate.
NCB has already arrested some drug peddlers and Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty in the case. This apart, Sushant’s manager Samuel Miranda has been also arrested.
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty is being grilled by multiple agencies probing the case. These include the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and NCB.
