Following the murder of a 21-year-old B.Com student Nikita Tomar outside her college in Haryana’s Faridabad, the main accused in the case Tauseef has confessed his crime during the police interrogation.
Tauseef said that he killed the woman because she was about to get married to someone else. Notably, Tauseef was caught on camera shooting Nikita in broad daylight after a failed abduction attempt in the city’s Ballabgarh area on Monday afternoon. Nikita was immediately rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.
The police during the initial probe found that Tauseef and Nikita had a phone conversation during the intervening night of October 24-25. The conversation between the two lasted for nearly 16 minutes, the police said.
Victim’s family claims Tauseef harassed Nikita
The victim’s family has claimed that Tauseef was harassing Nikita for a long time for marriage. In fact, the family claimed that Tauseef was arrested in 2018 after he was accused of abducting Nikita and an FIR was filed against him.
The family later withdrew the case against Tauseef after a settlement was arrived at between the two families.
Revenge for ruining career
The accused Tauseef has admitted before police that he murdered Nikita Tomar to exact revenge for his arrest.
During the interrogation, he told police, “I couldn’t study medicine because I was arrested. And hence I took revenge.”
