Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday asked state officials to ensure that no migrant migrant worker travels on foot or bike or in any unsafe mode in Uttar Pradesh. Media reports said that the directive came as several incidents of migrants losing their lives in road accidents while returning home was being reported.
Adityanath has asked the officials to ensure that provisions are made to provide food and water to migrants as soon as they enter the state borders. He has also said that arrangements for medical screening and travel to their respective destination in the state should also be made. He also asked the cops to ensure that no migrant labourers travel in an unsafe way in trucks and that action be taken against truck drivers.
He has also asked for quarantine rules to be strictly implemented and police patrol to be increased. On restarting industries, Yogi said availability of labourers should be assessed for the same.
