Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has written to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure that no interest is charged on home loans availed by the poor and middle class. She has also sought waiver of power bills of farmers for four months.
In a letter to the UP chief minister, she sought a slew of relief measures including waivers on bank loans and power bills of small and medium industries in the state. Calling out for relief to weavers and workers in various small and cottage industries, she said that they are the backbone of the economy.
She also expressed condolence on the demise of Adityanath’s father, who passed away on April 20. Later she took to Twitter to urge the chief minister to use the UP state transport buses that were lying idle to ferry the many migrants who were returning home on foot. She reminded the chief minister that these migrants were their own people. She said that bringing them by bus would mean they can be properly screened and those who are found infected can be quarantined.
She said that at present many migrants were walking towards UP and many were reaching home without being tested. Some of them if found positive and not quarantined could increase the covid19 load in the state.
