Two Army soldiers were killed, and four others including an officer have been injured after terrorists triggered an explosive device during an encounter that broke out with the security forces on Friday morning in the Kandi area of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir.

An encounter began between two to three terrorists and security forces from Friday morning in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh confirmed that the encounter began in the Kandi forest area today morning.
News agency PTI quoted officials saying that the exchange of fire was going on at Doke in the Banyari Hills of Rajouri district. Further details are awaited.
Meanwhile on Thursday, suspected terrorists opened fire on security forces in the Bijbhera area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir during which one police personnel sustained minor injuries. Jammu and Kashmir police said, ” Injured police personnel has been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
On Thursday morning also security forces foiled a terrorist plot in Jammu and Kashmir. Two terrorists were shot dead in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. A police official said that the encounter took place early morning in Baramulla district. Objectionable material and a large quantity of arms and ammunition including an AK-47 rifle, a pistol was recovered from the slain terrorists. According to Kashmir Zone Police, an encounter took place in Vanigam Payeen Kriri area of Baramulla.
