Edu department announces date for varsity exams, admissions


The education department made some announcements regarding the pending university final exams and the admissions to courses in the new academic year. Here is what you need to know.

The pending exams for the Under Graduate (UG) terminal final semester and other university exams will begin from June 25 onwards, as per the UGC guidelines.

The exam time will be two hours and it will be conducted over several shifts

In case the pandemic situation does not improve, the intermediate semester – 2, 4, 6 – students will have their merit list prepared on the basis of internal evaluation and their score in the previous semester.

The internal evaluation and the previous semester scores will have 50% weightage each for the final merit list for the intermediate semester.

In cases where the exams are conducted annually and not semester-wise, the internal assessment will have 100% weightage.

If a student wishes to improve his grade in a particular subject, he can appear for the exams in the future as and when it is held.

In case a student has failed in a subject he will be allowed to carry forward it to the next semester and can appear for the exams as and when it is held to clear it.

Admissions will be open for all seats except for ACPC from June 15 onwards.

90% of the seats will be available for admission .

The admission for the rest 10% will be carried out when the CBSE board and other board results are declared in August.

Admission forms for science stream will be available online from May 26.

Classes for semester 3, 5 and 7 will begin from June 21 and will be online initially.

Semester 1 will begin from August 1.

Gujcet will be held for admissions that are given through ACPC from July 30 onwards.

Social distancing and masks are must during exams.
