New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said on Tuesday that it had seized Rs 2.82 crore in cash and 133 gold coins weighing 1.8 kg during raids at the premises of Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain and his aides.
According to the agency, the cash and gold were unexplained and had been kept in a secret place.
“ED has conducted searches on 6.6.2022 under PMLA, 2002 at the premises of Satyendar Kumar Jain and others. Various incriminating documents, digital records, cash amounting to Rs. 2.85 crore and 133 gold coins weighing 1.80 kg in total from unexplained source have been seized,” the ED said in a tweet on Tuesday.
Satyendar Jain was arrested last month in a case of money laundering.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier called the allegations fake.
After the seizure, he tweeted, “Currently, the Prime Minister is going after Aam Aadmi Party with all his might, especially Delhi and Punjab governments. Lies after lies after lies. You have the power of all agencies. But God is with us.”
