Donald Trump’s channel blocked by YouTube


After a host of social media platforms blocked outgoing US President Donald Trump for the Capitol Hill violence, Google has now suspended his YouTube channel. Not just this, the tech major has also removed a video recently posted on the channel for violation of usage policy.

YouTube, in a statement, said that the restriction has been imposed for at least seven days. The video hosting website also said that the comments section of the channel has been also disabled.

YouTube in a tweet said, “After review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to Donald J. Trump’s channel for violating our policies. It now has its 1st strike & is temporarily prevented from uploading new content for a *minimum* of 7 days.”

In normal cases, the full privileges of a channel are restored in a week’s period, but this is an exception as the tech companies are cracking down on Donald Trump for posting controversial content a week ahead of Joe Biden assuming office.

Earlier, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and Instagram blocked Donald Trump’s accounts indefinitely after the president was found violating community rules of posting content. All these platforms had previously removed such content with warnings but after the attack on Capitol in the US, all the accounts of Trump were suspended.


Following the violence at Capitol Hill, an impeachment motion has been moved by Democrats and voting on the sane will take place on Wednesday. The Article of Impeachment has been co-authored by Congressmen Jamie Raskin, David Cicilline and Ted Lieu and has been co-sponsored by 211 members of the House of Representatives.

Earlier, the House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler released a majority staff report for the impeachment of Trump. The 50-page report made a strong case to impeach the Republican president.
