Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said the army should be called in and curfew imposed in Northeast Delhi where violence has claimed 20 lives. “I have been in touch with large number of people whole night. Situation alarming. Police, despite all its efforts, unable to control situation and instill confidence. Army should be called in and curfew imposed in rest of affected areas immediately. He also informed that he has written letter to home minister.”
The ruckus that started on the streets of Delhi has not stopped yet. In last three days, violence has taken place in many areas of Delhi in which 20 people have lost their lives so far. Violent protest took place in Gokulpuri area of Delhi on Wednesday morning as well, some miscreants set fire to a shop here. Amid an atmosphere of violence, Arvind Kejriwal has appealed that army should be deployed in the violence affected areas in Delhi.

Stating that the situation in Delhi is alarming and the failure of the police in bringing matters under control, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he will write to Home Minister Amit Shah seeking Army deployment. He added that he will also urge the imposition of curfew in affected areas.
