Police have seized the license pistol and several cartridges of Tahir Hussain, an accused and suspended Aam Aadmi Party councilor in the Delhi violence case. The pistol has been sent for forensic examination. Now the investigation will know whether this pistol was fired or not. Tahir Hussain’s mobile has also been recovered.
During the violence, the sources said, the gun was at the home of the suspect, Tahir Hussain, and later with someone he knew. 24 live cartridges have also been sent to forensics. Hussain has been booked for the murder of an IB officer Ankit Sharma, during the riots, in which over 53 people have been killed.
The Delhi Police team reached Karkardooma Court late on Friday evening with AAP Councilor Tahir Hussain suspended for the murder of IB Officer Ankit Sharma. After the hearing, the court has sent him on police remand for seven days. Earlier, Tahir Hussain had reached the court on Thursday to surrender, where he was arrested by the Delhi Police team. Tahir had also filed an anticipatory bail application in the court earlier, which was rejected by the court. The communal violence, that sparked from protests over the amended Citizenship Act in northeast Delhi on February 24, has so far claimed lives of at least 53 people and left almost 300 injured.
