New Delhi: The two recent rape cases of Delhi will be heard in special fast track courts, the Home Ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry and the Delhi police took note of the incidents in Nangal and Mayur Vihar at a meeting during the day.
The police stated that they would file a charge sheet within 30 days to ensure that hearing in both commences at the earliest.
Under the directions of Home Minister Amit Shah, the Union Home ministry with the Delhi police reviewed the cases of rape and murder of a minor in Nangal and rape of a minor in Mayur Vihar, the ministry spokesperson said on Twitter.
The spokesperson added, “Delhi Police is committed to filing a charge sheet in court within 30 days of registration of the case, so that the hearing begins at the earliest. The hearing in both cases will be done in fast track special courts in Delhi.”
A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Mayur Vihar area in Delhi on Wednesday.
Earlier this month, a minor girl was allegedly raped and killed. Her parents have claimed that she was also murdered and then cremated by a priest of a crematorium in Old Nangal village in southwest Delhi.
