Defence minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Ladakh on Friday has been postponed, media reports said. Singh was to visit the region to take stock of India’s military preparedness following a fierce stand-off with China.
Media reports said the visit will be rescheduled. The minister was to be accompanied by Indian Army chief Manoj Mukund Naravane who was in Ladakh last week.
Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Yogesh Kumar Joshi, Commander of the 14 Corps Lt Gen Harinder Singh and other senior Army officials were also to accompany the minister. India has reinforced its troops presence in Ladakh as well as along the LAC and the Indian Air Force too has moved air defence systems as well as its frontline combat jets and attack helicopters to several key air bases along the LAC. India and China held the third round of talks at the senior commander level on de-escalation and disengagement but it remained inconclusive.
