Sambit Patra, BJP National Spokesperson, in a press conference targeted Congress including Rahul Gandhi. Patra said, “Rahul Gandhi is going to Surat with his family members, CM Ashok Gehlot and CM Bhupesh Baghel. He will try to do drama against sentence of 2 years under the pretext of appeal. Raising a question to Congress and Rahul Gandhi he asked whether it is an effort to create pressure over judiciary system ?
On Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Surat to file an appeal against judgement of a court in Defamation case, Senior BJP leader and Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “why did you not appeal while trial was going on in the court. I condemn the drama that you are doing to threaten. The court has already convicted you and now you are doing this drama, then it is surely to create pressure on the court. Congress believes the family to be above the country.”
On the other hand, commenting on the matter, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that Rahul Gandhi has insulted backward people many times. It is sad that the Congress, far from apologizing, is trying to create pressure and scare. Now relieving chief ministers from their work they have been engaged for this work.
BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad also said, “what does it mean that the Chief Ministers are going to the court. This new tradition (which they are starting) is unfortunate, and shameful. When Modi ji was questioned as the Chief Minister, did the workers come out? During questioning of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, son-in-law (Robert Vadra) all Congress workers come on the streets. It is unfortunate and an insult to the judicial system.”
