In a latest twist to the ongoing drugs probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday issued summons to actors Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh.

Deepika Padukone summoned on Sep 25

Notably, Deepika Padukone has been summoned by the anti-drug agency on September 25. Rakul Preet Singh has been asked to remain present on September 24. Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan have been summoned on September 26.

This apart, fashion designer Simone Khambatta will be also questioned by NCB on September 24. Deepika Padukone’s business manager Karishma Prakash has been also asked to remain present on September 25 for questioning. They have been summoned based on WhatsApp messages retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s mobile phone. The WhatsApp messages revealed conversations on drug procurement.

The names of Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, both co-stars of Sushant Singh Rajput, reportedly came up during the questioning of Rhea Chakraborty.

Rakul Preet Singh had last week gone to the Delhi High Court alleging a media trial over reports that she had been named among drug users in Bollywood.

16 arrested in drugs case so far

The NCB has so far arrested a total 16 accused in the case. The list includes actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty.

NCB records statement of film producer

Earlier on Wednesday, the agency recorded the statement of film producer Madhu Mantena in connection with the case.

Mantena was the co-producer of the 2016 Bollywood film ‘Udta Punjab’ which dealt with the issue of drug menace.

His name allegedly cropped up during the questioning of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s talent manager Jaya Saha, who was quizzed by the probe agency for last two days, NCB officials said.

The NCB had on Tuesday summoned Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash and KWAN talent management agency’s CEO Dhurv Chitgopekar, but the former could not appear before the agency due to ill-health.
