DCP (Crime) Nimish Ahrawal said the accused sent a letter to sweetmeat shop in Indore
and threatened Rahul Gandhi of death in a bomb blast. The letter was received when the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra, which began in Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu in September last year, entered Indore on November 27 and moved into neighboring Ujjain district the next day. Police arrested him at that time, but he was released on bail. Subsequently, the Collector issued a warrant against him under NSA. He was absconding since then. Crime Branch succeeded to nab him on Wednesday.
It may be mentioned that the letter received at sweetmeat shop mentioned about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. He also gave a death threat to Congress leader Kamal Nath. The letter mentioned that not a single party had raised its voice over anti-Sikh riots.
