The curfew will be imposed in the walled city areas of the city that have evolved as a hotspot for the deadly virus and Danilimda.
In a bid to facilitate people living in these areas, only women will be allowed to go out from 1 pm to 4 pm for the purchase of milk, grocery, medicines, and other essential items.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said the decision to impose curfew has been taken as Ahmedabad alone has reported 351 of the 617 cases reported in Gujarat so far, which is more than 50 per cent of the total tally. Also, the majority of the cases reported in Ahmedabad are from the walled city areas and more cases are being detected every day.
